The Royal Academy of Music is hosting, together with the Cobbe Collection (Hatchlands Park), The Historical Pianist: A Conference-Festival on 22-24 April 2016. This event, which I’m organising, celebrates the idea of historical pianos, pianists and performance practices, and the the creative role they can play in piano performance today. It will feature performances, lecture-recitals and lectures by esteemed figures including Professor Kenneth Hamilton, Professor David Owen Norris and Daniel-Ben Pienaar, and promises to be a exciting three days of performance and research. Details on the programme will be unveiled in the new year.
